Environmental, Safety & Health Policy

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Policy

At Oryx Group, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, clients, contractors, and the environment are at the core of our operations. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental Stewardship, across all our sectors—ranging from production, logistics, and life support services to food processing, water bottling, and hospitality.

This policy aligns with applicable legislation in the UK (including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, UK Environmental Protection Act 1990, and COSHH Regulations), UAE labor and safety laws, as well as international standards such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).

  1. Our HSE Commitments

✔ Protect the health and safety of our employees, contractors, visitors, and the wider public.
✔ Prevent workplace incidents, injuries, illnesses, and environmental harm.
✔ Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation and industry codes of practice in the jurisdictions we operate.
✔ Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, training, communication, and worker engagement.
✔ Continuously improve HSE performance through audits, feedback loops, and preventive action.
✔ Reduce waste, conserve resources, and manage environmental impact responsibly.

  1. Occupational Health & Safety Management

We proactively manage workplace risks through:

  • Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS):
All work activities are risk-assessed and documented with safe work procedures in place.
  • HSE Inductions & Ongoing Training:
All staff undergo site-specific safety inductions and regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and refresher training.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation:
A zero-tolerance approach to underreporting. All near-misses and incidents are recorded, investigated, and analysed to prevent recurrence.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
PPE is mandatory where required, provided free of charge, and monitored for proper usage.
  • Health Surveillance & Wellbeing:
Programs include occupational health checks, mental health support, and ergonomic workplace evaluations.
  1. Environmental Responsibility

Oryx Group strives to minimize its environmental footprint through:

  • Sustainable Resource Use:
Efficient use of water, energy, and raw materials in all operations.
  • Waste Management & Recycling:
Compliance with UK and UAE regulations on waste segregation, hazardous waste handling, and recycling procedures.
  • Pollution Prevention:
Preventing air, water, and soil pollution through regular maintenance, monitoring, and responsible sourcing.
  • Climate & Carbon Consciousness:
Reducing emissions where possible and exploring renewable energy solutions and carbon reporting.
  1. Responsibilities
  • Senior Management:
Provide resources, oversight, and governance to enforce the HSE policy across all operations.
  • Supervisors & Site Managers:
Ensure operational HSE procedures are implemented and monitored at the site level.
  • Employees & Contractors:
Responsible for adhering to all safety instructions, using PPE properly, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
  1. Monitoring & Review

We conduct regular internal HSE audits and external compliance reviews. This policy is reviewed annually or in response to significant changes in legislation, operations, or incidents.
